El Chingon Brand Case Study

The following images visually walks you through the creative process for a Mexican restaurant located in Philadelphia, PA

Starting with a mood board created with the client, images that reflect the authenticity of the food and the lively spirit one feels when enjoying a meal with good company.

The client wanted something that would be simple as the ingredients in the food but showcase the complex combinations they can create.

We chose simple, abstract shapes that represent a taco, el pastor, cemitas, avocado and a bugambilia flower. With those simple shapes, we were able to create intricate tiles that were inspired by Mexican folk art and authentic Mexican tile designs.

The typeface was chosen to emulate hand painted plates originated from the city of Puebla, Mexican where my client grew up.
